Description
French Model of 1892 "Ordnance" revolver in 8mm Lebel for sale. An interesting and well-engineered .32 caliber revolver, the Model of 1892 would, along with being the officer's sidearm of choice for France in the World Wars, be one of the most common armaments for the French Resistance. All that aside, it is a low recoiling and easy to shoot revolver with several interesting features, including an interesting combined loading gate / cylinder release. Condition of this particular example is very good. Finish shows a nice deep blue with some thin areas and some light pitting on the barrel. Surfaces left in the white show expected discoloration but no crusting. Mechanical function is excellent with a nice tight lockup.Wood is excellent with strong texture. Lanyard loop is present. This is a fairly inexpensive way to get a really cool piece of a history, and as other vintage French guns climb in value this is a great way to get a piece of that country's history in your gun safe.
