Colt SAA Custom Shop Frontier Six Buffalo Bill Ltd Ed. 44-40 Engraved

 44-40 WCF, 7 1/2” barrel with an excellent bore.

The gun features lovely loose flowing scroll with background punch-dot shading and a geometric borderline embellishment. The left side front of the barrel is especially engraved "Buffalo Bill Historical Center/Winchester Museum/1 of 250" and shows the Winchester "Horse and Rider" halfway down its length. The revolver displays beautiful nickel on barrel, frame, backstrap and triggerguard with gold plated cylinder, hammer, base pin, ejector rod and housing and trigger. The gold has begun to flake from the hammer, there is some freckling on the grip frame and some of the nickel is beginning to flake around Buffalo Bill’s signature on the backstrap and on the frame, likely all due to a bit of poor storage. The cylinder is unmarked, this pistol is likely unfired and unturned. The smooth grips are ivory and are about excellent with Colt Custom Shop medallions and Buffalo Bill Cody’s visage has been scrimshawed in great detail on the left panel. This limited edition comes in a red Moroccan leather presentation case with goldenrod baize-lined French-fitted interior. The lid is embossed with gold scroll around its edges, the center reading "Buffalo Bill Historical Center/Winchester Museum/One of 250 Colt Frontier Revolvers". The case is structurally solid, it is in about good condition with some small scuffs, some staining, signs of insect damage and some other handling marks. With only 250 revolvers produced, this is an opportunity to own a seldom seen and attractive tribute to a Wild West legend.
